Maybe it would help them see why the arts are so vital in these troubled, budget-challenged times. Some invisible spiritual connection with the allness of life through listening to music. I have done the same with the Moody Blues and Pink Floyd and especially classical music. I am currently taking a music appreciation course at our local community college. The teacher is a young mother and is so knowledgable, it is beautiful to hear her explain the history of the Russian composers and how they wrote music through their fears and struggles with Stalin.
